From the 14th till the 17th of February 2018 the Second International Youth Conference “TatarstanUpExPro 2018” took place in Kazan. The event was organized by Kazan Federal University SPE Student Chapter.
The Conference was held at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University. Objectives of the conference were stimulating of knowledge sharing, development of connections between students from various universities, introducing cultural heritage of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan to the guests of the event. The conference included saturated program.
On the first day a bus excursion around Kazan was organized for the participants. During the excursion the guests of the conference could admire the main sights of the city.
On the second day official opening of the conference took place, at which representatives of the university administration and sponsor companies welcomed the participants and wished them fruitful work. The program of the conference continued with the presentations at technical sections, where the participants could demonstrate results of their work and get feedback from high-qualified judges. After presentations, a round table was held for representatives of SPE student chapters, with participation of YaroslavaOrlova, coordinator of non-commercial projects of SPE. During the round table the participants could get answers for questions, regarding development of their universities’ SPE sections. The program of the first day ended with the intellectual game “Oil Challenge”, organized by Almetyevsk State Oil Institute SPE Student Chapter.
On the third day there were held lectures by representatives of sponsor companies, including TNG-Group, Tatneft, Mirriko, Schlumberger. There was also organized an excursion at the Shtukenberg geological museum for the participants of the conference. The next event was a diplomatic game – Model of negotiations on division of spheres of influence in the Caspian Region “The Big Game”. In the end of the third day a closing ceremony was held, at which prize winners were awarded. During the ceremony, creative collectives of Kazan Federal University performed for the participants.
Among representatives of Gubkin University the prize winners of technical sections were AndrijaAvramovich (1st place) and AlekseiKishankov (2nd place) – on the section “Geophysics and Geoinformation Technologies”; Denis Vorontsov (1st place) – on the section “Scientific Papers of Graduates and Young Specialists”. Also the students from Gubkin University actively participated in team competitions “Oil Challenge” and “The Big Game” The teams with representatives of Gubkin University were prize winners.
